Grace Health Center, Dr. David Kern and Associates, was founded in 1985.

Dr. Kern is a naturopathic physician and licensed acupuncturist with over 30 years

of clinical experience. Grace Health Center is a holistic and preventative medical

clinic that emphasizes the tenants of traditional naturopathic medicine:

  • First Do No Harm
  • Preventive Medicine
  • The Physician as Teacher

Grace Health Center is divided into three specialty areas:

Healthy Aging, Endocrine and Hormone Balance

         Included here is hormone function including thyroid and adrenal function, as well as,

         auto-immune disease and women’s health, including PMS,  peri-menopause,

         menopause,  bioidentical hormone balance, infertility, post-partum depression,

         migraine headaches, irregular or painful periods, ovarian and breast cysts and fibroids.

         Here, too, would include men’s health, energy, vitality, andropause or male menopause

         and testosterone assessment and evaluation.

Family Practice/General Medicine

Here patients come in for the same reason they would come to see their

family physician but with an interest in a more holistic and natural approach

designed to minimize side effects, identify the cause and treat the whole

person. Examination, complete laboratory analysis and diagnosis are all part

of deciding the most appropriate treatment for each patient.

Conditions include colds, flu, illness, upset stomach and digestion, allergies,

asthma, cholesterol and blood pressure issues, diabetes and blood sugar

regulation, fatigue and low energy, depression, anxiety, sleep problems,

weight loss programs and more.

Sports Medicine, Fitness and Pain Management

This patient comes due to some injury, strain or pain of a joint, back,

shoulder or neck. Patients may come because of headaches, arthritis,

inflammatory bowel syndrome or other forms of inflammation. Patients may

come with an interest in enhancing fitness, improving strength or endurance

or for preventative treatment for a race or competition or in support of an

exercise program, surf session or tennis game. Patients are also seen for

automobile accidents, as well as, work related injuries.

Treatment could include acupuncture, spinal adjustment, physiotherapy

including electro-stim, ultra-sound or cold laser treatment.
